Why I Love This Recipe

My grandmother, who raised me, made this dish often and it was never a let down. I now make it for my kids, and it is also one of their favorites!

Ingredients

Manicotti Noodles
1 lb of ground beef
1 tsp crushed garlic
2 slices of fresh bread, torn into small piecces
1 cup of Italian-flavored Progresso Bread crumbs
1 egg

Milk to Moisten
1 small package of grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups of spaghetti sauce (equal to one large jar of commercial sauce)

Directions

1. Cook manicotti noodles in a large pan of boiling water for 7-10 minutes (until tender, but not too tender).

2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, brown the ground beef and garlic until the beef is browned all the way. Add the bread, bread crumbs, egg, enough milk to moisten and half of the cheese to the beef.

3. Drain the manicotti noodles. Stuff the meat mixture into the manicotti noodles and place in a 9×13 inch baking dish.

4. Pour spaghetti sauce over the top and the remaining grated cheese. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
