KATV: Local College Students Face Mental Health Challenges As Semester Starts

By the YOU at College Team, 8/16/2024

Little Rock (KATV) – As many student return to campus this month, with many of them being away from home for the first time, it remains important for students to address and support their mental health. In a new interview with KATV in Little Rock, YOU at College partner Kristy Davis with Arkansas Tech University sat down to discuss how YOU at ATU and HelpCompass at ATU are providing comprehensive tools to support student mental health, well-being, and success before and during crisis.

“Not everyone struggles with mental health in the same way. Some students may struggle in their academics. So, YOU at ATU has a whole section on success, and academics, and their career. Some students, it may show in their physical and mental health, and this tool has section just on resources for students to thrive . . . and other students may struggle in the form of social interaction – finding purpose and meaning – and so there’s another section of the tool that focuses on mattering. Really this tool can help in any number of ways.”
