YOU at College to Promote Well-being and Mental Health Services Tailored to Student Needs in Collaboration with The Jed Foundation

DENVER, July 23, 2019 – YOU at College, the student-centric digital well-being portal now used by more than 25 schools nationwide, is collaborating with The Jed Foundation (JED), a leading nonprofit that exists to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. Under the agreement, YOU at College will provide a discounted rate to colleges and universities participating in the JED Campus program when they choose to implement the YOU at College well-being portal.

“We are thrilled to announce this collaboration between YOU at College and JED,” said Nathaan Demers, Psy.D., VP and director of clinical programs at YOU at College. “Since its founding nearly 20 years ago, The Jed Foundation has worked tirelessly to foster better mental health and suicide prevention resources on campus. Their mission closely aligns and overlaps with the YOU at College objectives of prevention, education and early intervention to improve and save young lives. Together, we hope to expand the reach and impact both organizations have made on the lives of young adults.”

A signature program of The Jed Foundation, JED Campus is a nationwide initiative designed to help colleges and universities develop campus-wide systems, programs and policies to support mental health and prevent substance misuse and suicide. Following JED’s comprehensive approach, JED Campuses embark on a multi-year strategic partnership with JED to build a safety net for their students. Currently, more than 270 schools representing nearly three million students are in the program.

The agreement with YOU at College provides the option for an additional proven resource schools can engage to help them meet the overall well-being and mental health services needs of students.

“We’ve watched closely as the YOU portal has grown to become a useful intervention for many of our schools,” said Lee Swain, director of JED Campus at JED. “We’re excited to include YOU at

College as a resource in our playbook for schools striving to address the challenge of student emotional, physical and academic well-being.”
